Without a valid Will, your estate will be distributed according to the applicable law, which may result in a longer and more complicated administration process for your loved ones.
Can I appoint a SmartWriter as my witness?
Yes, you may request a SmartWriter to act as a witness, subject to availability.
A witness service fee of up to RM100 per witness may apply for each Will processed.
Do I need a lawyer to prepare my Will?
No. Malaysian law does not require a Will to be prepared by a lawyer.
However, the Will must be in writing, properly signed and witnessed, and comply with the applicable legal requirements to be valid.
